About the Editor's Choice Award

We love all 10,684 breweries on our list, but 7 breweries standout above the rest.

Every brewery we feature on this site is awesome. Washington State produces some of the best beer in the country. That said, we've visited many and of those, a handful standout above the rest both on the roster and in our hearts.

Being an Editor's Choice recipient means that we've visited the brewery, had a great time, and would recommend it to our friends. It's a subjective award, but it's our way of saying "this place is special."

Look at it this way, this is the list we'd give a friend if they asked "but what do you like?"

How do you choose?

There are many reasons why a brewery might be an Editor's Choice recipient. It could be the beer, the atmosphere, the staff, the location, or any combination of those things. It's a gut feeling, and it's a way for us to share our love of Washington beer with you.

It's important to note that we don't accept payment for this award. It's not an advertisement. It's a badge of honor.

How can I get my brewery on the list?

Two ways:

  1. Be fkn awesome.
  2. Invite us over.

With 10,684 breweries on the list, it's hard to visit them all, so truth be told, get our attention. Holler, scream, wave your arms around like you're inflated and posted up in front of a used-car dealership. If that level of whackiness isn't your jam, an email will suffice, too.

Does the list reset?

It does not, which is why we think it's a special title to earn. Once you're on the list, unless you go out of business or turn into a dumpster fire that serves beer, you're probably on the list forever1.

Current Editor's Choice Recipients

1 We reserve the right to remove a brewery from the list if they do something that makes us sad. Or the heat death of the universe occurs. Whichever comes first.
