“Spilker Ales was first conceived while the founder, Sam Spilker, was having a beer at the Mountain Tap pub in Ft. Collins, Colorado. During the summer following Sam’s graduation from Colorado State University in 1993, the idea hit like ‘a huge thud’. Although Sam was very angry that he had not thought of opening a brewery sooner, (like his 21st birthday), the anger soon wore off, and the wheels were turning.”
